Self-Guided Tours
Create your own field trip adventure! Self-guided tours give you and your students access to all of the historic areas allowing you to cover a variety of Indiana academic standards, including social studies, language arts, math and science. Students will explore and engage in history bringing the past to life in ways a textbook cannot. Reservations required.

May-October: Tues.–Sat.
Times: 9:30 am–2:30 pm
Groups scheduled every 15 minutes.
Length: 3 to 4 hours recommended for a complete experience
Cost: $4.50/student; $8.00/adult chaperone

Special Interest Programs
Immerse your students in history with fun, interactive special interest programs. Students will dive into the history of early Indiana with the guidance of a Conner Prairie staff member. Read about the programs below. Reservations required.

Trail of the Trade
(Grades 3–8)
Dig deep into the history of the Lenape Indians and trace their history with the European settlers. Visit the Lenape village and experience life like they did. Try trading fur at the trading post and learn how furs were used to keep warm. Check out early clay pottery and see how it was used. Finally, learn about the William Conner story and the historic treaty that ultimately led to the removal of the Lenape tribe.

Moving West
(Grades 4–8)
Length: 2 hours
Become an 1836 pioneer with your sights set on moving west. You just sold your farm in Ohio and are preparing to settle your family in Indiana. Figure out which goods to take along, buy land at an auction and survive using 19th-century tools. Work as a team to make decisions and deal with the consequences.

Woodland Indians: Art and Culture
(Grades 2–8)
Experience the rich tradition and deep-rooted history of the Lenape Indians. Talk to members of the Delaware Tribe who travel all the way from Oklahoma to teach you about the Lenape culture. Attend six sessions, including an outdoor dance program.
Cost: $5.50/student; $5.50/adult chaperone.
