Pottery
Work with Conner Prairie’s master potter Larry Gilliam as you advance your pottery skills or learn basic wheel throwing techniques. Discover the art of glazing your wares and decorating using traditional Pennsylvania German designs.
Inkle Weaving
Renowned strap weaver Pam Hutton will lead the class in learning basic inkle loom weaving. Through the completion of several powder horn or hunting bag straps, you will learn about material selection, loom design, warping the loom and weaving to create beautiful works of art.
Flintknapping
Dwight Gallian will explain the prehistoric art of flintknapping. From selecting the proper materials and tools to cleaving and pressure flaking, this class will take you from a rough rock spall to a finished arrowhead.
Silver Wire Inlay
Discover the process of decorative silver wire inlay with instructor John Schippers. Inlay can be applied to rifles, furniture, or knife or tomahawk handles. Learn proper design, tool construction and execution of silver wire.
Basic Blacksmithing
Join Nathan Allen as you study the basics of blacksmithing. Learn skills like using a forge, drawing, punching, hardening and tempering steel and forge welding. Projects such as s-hooks, fireplace pokers, chain links and forks will be made.
