Conner Prairie Horizon Council

Heather Richey - Communications Assistant

This year Conner Prairie’s President and CEO Ellen M. Rosenthal created a group for young professionals who want to help shape the future of Conner Prairie. The Conner Prairie Horizon Council, a group comprised of members age 21-40, has been sharing their perspectives about how we can improve the park for guests of all ages and, more specifically, guests in their age group.

The Horizon Council is meeting quarterly and works with the Conner Prairie Board of Directors. They’ve formed several committees to help organize their efforts including: volunteering, social events, communication and major projects.

Next week, Wednesday, July 28, the Horizon Council will be attending an Indy Hub event called Get IndyVolved. A few members will be present to let other young professionals know how they can join or just what the group plans to do.

We are very excited about this great group of young professionals that have come together, about 32 in total. If you’d like more information you can find them on Facebook or contact Angela Tuell at 317-214-4732 or tuell@connerprairie.org.

I’d like to ask if you have any ideas to make Conner Prairie more appealing to people age 21-40 that come to the park, usually without children. We’d love to hear!
