A New Year, A New Blog

Happy 2010 to all of you!

The first decade of the 21st century has come and gone. Even in just 10 years, so much has changed since Y2K. I recently came across this very telling statistic.

In 2000, only 17% of Americans were using the Internet as their primary source for news, information and updates. By 2009, that number had catapulted to 78% of Americans. The technology we use every day continues to improve and is being integrated into larger and larger portions of our lives. It should come as no surprise that newspapers are shutting down and everyone is turning to the Internet to stay in touch with their families, their cities, their nations, and the world.

We at Conner Prairie are trying to stay up with the times and stay connected with you. In 2009 alone, we added a Twitter feed, Facebook fan page, and greatly expanded our Flickr account. Oh yeah, we added this blog, too.

As we look to 2010, we want to get better at connecting with you our visitors - whether it be an in-person or virtual visit.

So, here is a quick survey that will help us shape the future of Conner Prairie social media. 10 questions. Nothing tricky.

Thanks for the insight and the help. Here's looking to a great season, on our grounds and on the Internet.
