Conner Prairie to Host Arts & Arms Making Workshop October 11-17, 2008

In its 19th year, Conner Prairie’s Arts & Arms Making Workshop gives interested guests a rare opportunity to work closely and directly with some of the nation's best craftsmen. Develop your skills from basic to advanced in small class settings with well-equipped facilities.

 

Classes such as knife and axe making, engraving, leather work and bow making are just some of the skills that are taught at this workshop. Arms enthusiasts from across the country make this annual autumn trek to Conner Prairie to take part in this experience.

 

The Arts & Arms Making experiences are available in three workshops: a five-day workshop which runs Monday–Friday, October 13–17, 8 am–5 pm; or two 2 ½ -half day workshops, Session One is Monday and Tuesday, October 13 -14, 8 am–5 pm and Wed., October 15, 8 am–noon; Session Two runs Wed., October 15, 1–5 p.m., and Thursday and Friday, October 16-17, 8 am–5 pm. Individual classes are available during the weekend of October 11-12, 8 am-5pm.

 

Five day workshop experiences are $490/person ($460/member), registration for one of the 2-½ day workshops is $295/person ($280/member) registration for both sessions is $550/person ($525/member). Weekend class pricing varies.

Conner Prairie, a nationally acclaimed outdoor history museum located at 13400 Allisonville Rd. in Fishers, Indiana, is in the greater Indianapolis area, six miles north of I-465.
